After 14 years, the Labor Party won the UK elections, winning a majority under the leadership of Keir Starmer.
International media reports indicate that the Labor Party has secured 344 seats, surpassing the 326 seats needed to govern. “Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party has currently secured only 72 seats.
The latest survey projects a landslide victory for the Labor Party with 410 seats out of a total of 650 in the UK Parliament, while the Conservative Party has an estimated 131 seats.
In the 2019 elections, the Conservatives won 364 seats, while the Labor Party trailed with just 203 seats.
“The situation has changed this election season, with the Labor Party winning an overwhelming majority. Keir Starmer, 61, is set to take over as Britain’s new Prime Minister after being elected leader of the Labor Party in 2020 .
“Following their election shock, Conservative Party leaders are facing widespread criticism.”
