In Jammu, a jeweler associated with the BJP has meticulously crafted a 3-kg lotus flower, symbolizing the party, entirely out of pure silver. This stunning creation is intended as a heartfelt gift for Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi as he embarks on his third term in office on Sunday.

Rinku Chauhan, who lives in Muthi village near Jammu, shared that the inspiration to present this special gift to Modi was the fulfillment of two important promises by the BJP government: the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, the special status to Jammu and Kashmir. In 2018, Chouhan was expelled from the party for supporting his wife, an independent candidate, over the party’s official candidate in the urban local body elections. However, his expulsion was reversed a few weeks later.

Chouhan, who has been with the BJP for nearly two decades, expressed confidence in Modi’s re-election for a third term, citing his effective governance and widespread popularity.

He said, “Abrogation of Article 370 has curbed stone pelting and restored peace in Kashmir. The construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, which was pending for 500 years, is now underway.” Displaying the intricately designed gift, he said, “I put all my experience and soul into it. Modi is like God to me, and I hope he likes it.”

His wife Anjali Chauhan shared her eagerness to meet the Prime Minister and personally deliver the gift.

Meanwhile, a group of yoga enthusiasts did their morning routine at Mubarak Mandi in the old city and offered special prayers for Modi’s successful next term.

The participants wore ‘Modi masks’ and raised slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, celebrating the BJP’s return to power for the third time. Sonia Tandon told PTI, “Modi is irreplaceable and I am thrilled that he will remain the Prime Minister. We voted for him.”

BJP candidates Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore won their Udhampur and Jammu Lok Sabha seats for the third consecutive time, defeating their Congress rivals by over one lakh votes each.

Poonam Sachdev said, “This is an important day for the country as Modi is taking power once again with the support of the people.

Pooja Kapoor expressed hope that the Modi-led administration will introduce new welfare programs for the public and strive to enhance India’s global reputation.
